Vudoos Blow Away Storm 5-0

The Vudoos and Storm rivalry dated back to the early days of each franchise, in fact, right from the start they were destined to be foes, and have taken their contests to various venues. They have both found a home in the PTAHL where the intensity has been ratcheted up further, evidenced by their classic battles, many of which in the playoffs and get regular play on channels such as ESPN Classic.

The next phase of the Vudoos/Storm rivalry would begin with a fantastic play by Vudoos talisman James Woods-Corwin, who deked through a few Storm Clouds on his way to a 2-on-1 one with the reliable Kurt Seidel. Woods-Corwin flung one over to his buddy, with Seidel doing the rest, calmly putting his crew up by a single goal. Even play was the story for the next few minutes, but Woods-Corwin broke free for another odd man rush, this time with Ray "Ziesse's Peanut Butter Cup" Ziesse, and again found his buddy, with the Candy Man living up to his sweet tooth for scoring goals, adding one to the Vudoos' side, for 2-0. The Storm seemed to stem the tide behind solid defensive work through Captain Lloyd "The Llama" Lisk and the veteran leadership of Chuck "Chuck D" Dunster, but the Rain Makers would be unable to break fill-in netminder Dave Nguyen, who was able to use his pads on Patrick Quinn and remain perfect.

Riding their goalie, the Vudoos were able to increase the difference to three when John Rosalie helped Tom "Godzilla" Godon, who tore through the Storm defense as if they were a small village on his way to a post and in, highlight reel, goal. An immediate Vudoos goal courtesy of Ziesse's Peanut Butter Cup, again from Woods-Corwin would dampen any hopes the Storm would have of a comeback, then Rosalie rounded out the scoring with a rifle for a 5-0 Vudoos win.

The Buffalo Wild Wings MotM Award had many candidates, but Woods-Corwin (three assists) would take home the honors.
